INTERN
The Ontological-Hysteric Theater has a variety of internships available each year. Please note that unfortunately we cannot offer any financial or housing support to our interns.
Duties for interns in all internships are varied and depend on personality, prior experience and initiative. It is crucial that interns be interested in all aspects of theater- -technical, stage management, and production. It is the belief of the OHT that a well-rounded knowledge of these elements is essential to the theater artist.
PRODUCTION INTERNSHIPS - FALL
SEPTEMBER -- JANUARY
An internship on Richard Foreman's productions affords the opportunity to become directly involved with his artistic process. Generally the Ontological-Hysteric Theater accepts no more than ten interns for each production. These interns are an integral part of the rehearsal process and become actively involved in assisting Mr. Foreman, the technical director and production staff.
The internship lasts for the entire development of Richard Foreman's production from mid- September until mid-January. Rehearsals are six days per week, usually from 10 am - 430 pm. Interns are required to be present for 24 hours of the rehearsal process (4 days per week). Technical production time happens on one day per week and in the evenings (5 pm - 9 pm). Interns work at least 4 technical shifts. It is important that interns be available for the entire rehearsal period, to allow them to fully experience Mr. Foreman's unique creative process.

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIPS - WINTER
JANUARY - APRIL
During the winter, the Ontological-Hysteric Theater opens Richard Foreman's annual show and needs 2 interns to help in the evenings with the running of that show. Interns assist with house management, stage management and administration. These interns are an integral part of the show and become actively involved in assisting Mr. Foreman, the house manager, and production staff. Duties for interns are varied and depend on personality and initiative.
The internship will run from early January until mid-late April. Interns are expected to work 3 nights per week from 4pm until 8pm.

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIPS - SUMMER (INCUBATOR)
MAY - SEPTEMBER
During the summer months the Ontological-Hysteric Incubator produces a series of festivals and opens its doors to several resident companies, which produce their own original works.
These interns are an integral part of the Summer productions, becoming actively involved in assisting Summer Resident artists and OHT production staff. Duties for interns are varied and depend on each Incubator show's needs and can range from artistic to technical to administrative.
These internships require approximately 20 hours a week including days and evenings. Six interns will be chosen for these positions.
